Located on the edge of the eastern ring road of Toulouse, the Cité de l’Espace welcomed and broke a record in 2017, reaching 400 000 visitors, a historic figure for this scientific cultural centre.
Created in 1997, as a result of a partnership among the City Hall of Toulouse, The Midi-Pyrénées Region, the National Education and Research Ministry, Centre for Space Studies (CNES) and the main aeronautics companies working in the region.
Toulouse is the undeniable place of aviation and aeronautics that has taken advantage of this scientific culture to open the door for you to this space adventure. The Cité de l’espace welcomes you all year around and offers you many activities for adults and children.
The Cité de l’Espace has one of the largest planetarium in the world and besides it has the life-size replica of Ariane 5 Rocket (53m high)
Thomas Pesquet, the tenth Frenchman to have gone into space, is being honoured this year in the Cité de l’espace. “In the Eyes of Thomas Pesquet” ,the new film 2018, in Imax format is the best way to experience the ESA astronaut’s space mission as closely as possible. If you are curious to know further about Thomas Pesquet’s mission, you still have time to watch it in a huge screen and to enjoy a unique experience.
